About Association

Mission of the Association
 
Slovene Association of Technology Parks and Incubators is voluntary, independent and non political organization, which associated technology parks, incubators and technology centers (innovative centers). The purpose of this organization is formation of the common interests and representation to the competent Ministries, experiences and knowledge exchange and transfer between members, cooperation in EU projects, comparison to related institutions in develop environments and common promotion.

The purpose of Association is reached thru following activities:

  • advisement to the members in professional, economical, legal and technical activities,
  • to inform the competent agencies about problems, issues and wishes of the members;
  • cooperation with legislative and other agencies, which have normative competences by sending them proposals and observations with the members viewpoints,
  • making reports about experiences, standpoints, concepts and strategies,
  • publishing and informing the public about all information and working results by topics, which are object of the Association activity,
  • stimulating and organizing arrangements, seminars, symposiums, meetings of the experts and work groups, organizing exhibitions,
  • representation of the members interests in relations to municipal, regional and state structures, and also in relations to chambers of trade, chamber of commerce, public and other interests groups,
  • organizing exchange of information and cooperation with other national and international associations and organizations, which have similar goals,
  • work in public – help for creating public opinion,
  • intervention and fostering of the contacts between incubators and technology parks.
All constitutive members of a Slovene Association of Technology Parks and Incubators are recognized on a national level as well on a regional level as the subjects of innovative environment by Slovenian law, where certain supporting programs and policy are made to implement fostering of entrepreneurship and technology transfer. All those activities have the goal to create environment where creativity and innovativeness is a key strategy.


Membership in Association 

Association is consists of constitutional and regular members. Member can be only national legal person.
Constitutional members of the Association are: Incubator Ltd., Štajerska technology park Ltd., Primorska technology park Ltd., Technology park Ljubljana Ltd. in Pomurje technology park Ltd..
Regular member can be every organization, which fulfills conditions from the Association statutes about membership.
Upon regular membership decided Association Assembly on the basis of received application for a membership. Decision is made with simple majority of the all constitutional members. Assembly gives a decision in the form of resolution.
Honorary member can be that member, which has deserved special well of association development.
For the honorary membership is needed to have recommendation of the constitutional members.


Organs of the Association

Organs of the association are:

  • Association Assembly 
It is the most important organ of Association. It consists of representatives of the constitutional members of association. Its task is definition of the fundamental direction of the association activities, adoption and modification of the foundational agreement, appointment and release of the president of the managing committee and cessation of the association.

  • Managing committee 
Managing committee of the Association consists of representatives of the constitutional and regular members of association.
Presidency over Managing Committee is executed after circular system. Every calendar year takes over the leadership another member. President of the managing committee becomes director of the member, which took leadership over committee. Assembly lay down order of precedence for presidency beforehand for at least two years.

  • Supervisory committee 
Supervisory committee has three members, which are named by managing committee.Supervisory committee supervises work legality, gives recommendation to the managing committee and assembly, appoints the reviser and suggests release of the president of the managing committee to the assembly.
